About the Baha’i Faith

Throughout history, God has revealed Himself to humanity through a series of divine Messengers, whose teachings guide and educate us and provide the basis for the advancement of human society. These Messengers have included Abraham, Krishna, Zoroaster, Moses, Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad. Their religions come from the same Source and are in essence successive chapters of one religion from God.

Baha’u’llah, the latest of these Messengers, brought new spiritual and social teachings for our time. His essential message is of unity. He taught the oneness of God, the oneness of the human family, and the oneness of religion.

Baha’is believe the crucial need facing humanity is to find a unifying vision of the nature and purpose of life and of the future of society. Such a vision unfolds in the writings of Baha’u'llah

A Pattern of Community Life

Baha’i community life is focused on the following activities, which are open to everyone:

Baha’i children’s classes explore basic, essential and universal spiritual principles in a way that is appropriate for each age group. They underscore the commonalities between all the great world religions and the continuity that exists from one Faith to the next.

Junior youth groups are aimed at empowering 11 to 14 year-olds spiritually and intellectually to contribute to the wellbeing of their communities.

Devotional gatherings offer people a regular occasion to come together, read from the Baha’i writings, and pray in a quiet environment of fellowship.

Adult classes also known as study circles provide an opportunity to explore, in a small group and in the light of the Baha’i Writings, themes such as prayer and life after death.

Informal gatherings are often held locally, when the relationship between Baha’i belief and a broad variety of subjects are explored, usually through a short presentation and discussion.

In all these activities people share in the joy of exploring the writings and spirit of the Baha’i Faith.
